Moments of a lifetime!
From the first time that Chris and Lisa Moore came to our church and spoke about bringing a group back to Africa I wanted to go. Now that I'm actually here it's more than I ever could have imagined. When the plane landed I had to ask myself am I really in Africa? Still every morning I have to say I'm here. I'm actually in Africa! It's a dream come true.
In the five days that I've been here I've already fell in love with the place and especially the children. They are sooooo precious, and I just adore them. Our first time at the school the kids greeted us in song. It was so sweet. I teared up, and everyday since I fall more in love with those children. Today Jory and I got to share arts and craft time with the students. I think it was the first time they ever played with play-dough and painted. I enjoyed seeing their faces light up with joy during that time. Also, we taught them some children's songs, and we learned some of their's. When I go back to America I'm really going to miss these beautiful children.
Although I thoroughly enjoy spending time in the academy with the kids nothing compares to our evangelism trip in the villages. Walking down the paths I just got sick seeing how extreme the conditions are there and to think how we Americans live in such a greedy self centered way. The poorest in America can never compare to the poor here. It's devastating, but even through the circumstances God still shows up and shines. Most of the people speak Swahili, and we have to communicate through a translator. It's kind of hard to follow the conversation, but it's still awesome witnessing people give their life to Christ no matter what language they speak. When our translator, Rama, spoke you could feel the power and intensity of the moment although I couldn't actually understand. It was legit! At one stop there were no adults but three teen aged boys. All three spoke English, so Chris told Noah and I to take it away. We led these young men to Christ that day. It was like nothing else I've ever done.
My journey in Africa is still just beginning. I've already experienced things I never could have dreamed. Moments of a lifetime. I can't wait to see what else is in store for me in following days. I love and miss everyone back home, but being here has opened my eyes. I couldn't wish for anything more.

Thoughts from Kenya
It really is hard to not love and feel the great need of the people here in Kenya. Simple things like finger paints and nerf balls that we think nothing about bring great joy to both the children and adults alike. It really is a "see to believe" situation. I got to spend the day with my son Noah teaching self defense and spiritual defense to the Kenyan children. It was a once in a lifetime kinda thing. We are a week into this journey and the team is wishing time would slow down a bit. You really do start to realize how much you mean to the world when you allow yourself to be where in the world God calls you to be.

Back up out of bed!
After being sick for a day and a half I am up and ready to go again. Chariti got to teach a simenar on teaching techniques for math and English. 49 teachers came to hear what she had to say. Every teacher received a
Certificate for completing the seminar. While Chariti was teaching the seminar the rest of the team went to the trails and hills of Kenya with Chris Moore and some translators to spread the love of Christ. Each of the team members were able to lead someone to Christ. There aren't many teens that can say that they have had that experience. I pray that the experience of having to overcome language and cultural barriers and still being able to be used of God this way will encourage these teens to remove whatever barrier may get in their way at home. To every one who has prayed for and has given to this trip you have had a hand in changing the eternity of these Kenyans and the hearts of this team. God bless you.

Evangelism in Kenya
I defiantly had to step outta my comfort zone today! I went evangelizing in hills of Africa! Trying to communicate with someone that doesn't speak your language is probably the hardest thing to do... Even if you have an interpreter!... Most of the people in the village have never seen a white person so they are hesitant to even walk up to you. We spent 3 hours walkin up, down, and around the hills/mountains ( okay they werent mountains but my calves thought they were hehehehe) doing our best to spread the word of God. Though it was a challenge i enjoyed myself and can't wait to go out again! We saved a total of 10 people! Everyone of our teens lead at least one person to Christ. :) major accomplishment for all of us! After walking the hills we returned to the school where we spent the next few hours playing sports and just spending time with the kids and school staff! :) I had a great day today!....Joryy Morse

A great first day in Kenya!
Today was a great day! We accomplished soo much physically, mentally and spiritually. Being welcomed into the school with open arms and songs from the children was by far my favorite part of the day. Our first task we had to do was dig a hole... With a machete..(the machete wasn't and easy thing to get, Emily vige and I had to run a quarter of a mile into the village to get it!) Shoveling gravel was our next task, little did we know, we would have to make the gravel by using a sludge hammers to smash coral reef! I can say tomorrow I am not going to be able to move! LOL lunch followed the rock smashing, then chapel. During chapel we got to interact with the children, we taught them the song "with Jesus in your boat" hearing them sing that song after we taught it to them was the best feeling EVER!!

Here's to auspicious beginnings!
Bible Baptist DeQuicny, La.
Well we are here in Kenya and are getting some much needed rest. There were some obstacles but we are ready to be Gods tools. We go to shovel rock and help in the school chapel tomorrow.

God Works in Mysterious Ways!
Bible Baptist from DeQuincy Louisiana is our first missions team of the year. Please pray that God really uses this team to reach Kenya for Christ and that God will touch their lives and they will never be the same.
God gave me the vision to start youth missions trips to combat the loss of our young adults as they graduate high school and enter into college, the military, or the work force. I have interviewed many young adults that have stayed focused on God and asked them what made the difference. A very high percentage of them said that they had been on a missions trip and experienced how God could use them directly to make a difference in the world. They found out that with God they had purpose and no longer felt like they were wandering through life. The same week I introduced the plan to our pastor Bro. Chris Moore, a supported missionary of our church, stopped in to spend some time at our church. I spoke with him and although the planning time frame was small we went for it. There have been many obstacles along the way but God has made a way and we are going to Kenya prepared to be amazed by God.
We will be flying out of Houston on May 22 at 4:05 arriving in Kenya on May 24th. We will be in country until June 6th.

Maasai Corner Building Update!
Here is the latest video from Maasai Corner.
About a year ago I stood there under those mango trees and tried to imagine what the property would look like when the buildings were complete. Chris and Lisa were going to be in Kenya for about a month after our Hallmark team left and then head back to the states to raise support for this new ministry. All of this was just a dream. Now its a reality and God has done some AMAZING things to get the ministry this far. In about 28 days I will get to see with my own eyes this beautiful place!
Thank you to those who support the Moores and ministries in Kenya!
God Bless!

The Sounds of Kenya
In just over a month Kim and I will be making our fouth trip to Kenya to work with the Moore's. One of my favorite things about Kenya is the singing and worship. Kenyan people worship Christ with there whole body. The childrens choirs are just as good as the adults.
As summer gets closer there will be several teams going to Kenya. Here is a taste of what they will get to experience!
