Sorry that I have not written in a few weeks! It is not because nothing has been happening here but rather we have been so busy in the ministry! The work at the school continues to move forward. The rainy season began about 3 weeks ago and it has rained nearly every day since. Because of this we are putting in sidewalks at our school so the kids are not in the mud all day. We are also planting grass and plants to cover some of the mud. While this is the season that everyone here in Kenya prays for, it also brings much sickness and disease.
Lisa is busy attending to the medical needs of the people but we know that in a month or so it will become overwhelming to handle all the malaria and respiratory cases that will come in. Please pray that we will always be able to provide medicine where there is a need. We provide it free for the people but when it runs out, we have to wait until more funds come in to buy additional meds.
Yesterday I spent the the entire day on the south coast trying to get our new property situated. We managed to get the surveyor out there and we marked out the borders of the nearly 5 acres. It is beautiful land with mango trees, cashew trees, coconut trees and other native plants! Two major prayer requests regarding this land: (1) pray that we can finalize all the government paperwork and get the title deed complete (2) pray that we raise about $3000 to fence the property and begin the process of building our next ministry site.
God is faithful and we are so excited each and every day that we have to serve Him here. Thanks to ALL of you who pray for us and give donations so that we can stay here and do this amazing work. Please keep them both coming....
Love,
Chris & Lisa
