The latest from Kenya!

Sorry that I have not written in a few weeks! It is not because nothing has been happening here but rather we have been so busy in the ministry! The work at the school continues to move forward. The rainy season began about 3 weeks ago and it has rained nearly every day since. Because of this we are putting in sidewalks at our school so the kids are not in the mud all day. We are also planting grass and plants to cover some of the mud. While this is the season that everyone here in Kenya prays for, it also brings much sickness and disease.

Lisa is busy attending to the medical needs of the people but we know that in a month or so it will become overwhelming to handle all the malaria and respiratory cases that will come in. Please pray that we will always be able to provide medicine where there is a need. We provide it free for the people but when it runs out, we have to wait until more funds come in to buy additional meds.

Yesterday I spent the the entire day on the south coast trying to get our new property situated. We managed to get the surveyor out there and we marked out the borders of the nearly 5 acres. It is beautiful land with mango trees, cashew trees, coconut trees and other native plants! Two major prayer requests regarding this land: (1) pray that we can finalize all the government paperwork and get the title deed complete (2) pray that we raise about $3000 to fence the property and begin the process of building our next ministry site.

God is faithful and we are so excited each and every day that we have to serve Him here. Thanks to ALL of you who pray for us and give donations so that we can stay here and do this amazing work. Please keep them both coming....

Love,
Chris & Lisa

Kenya Training!

Today we had our first training session for the Hallmark Team going to Kenya in June. It was a wonderful time of getting to know everyone on the team and having a very tasty Kenyan lunch cooked by a native Kenyan lady. The Ft Worth Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship was there to teach us some really fun songs and how to make balloon figures. The Kenyan children are going to love the balloon swords, hats, and dogs.

Chris and Lisa were able to Skype in to say hello and update everyone on how things are going on at our school in Mtepeni. God is doing some amazing things in Kenya and we are really excited to get there. We fly in 47 days!!!

Please pray that all of the travel details fall into place and that all of the teams funding will come in.

God Bless
David Hayes

The Best Easter Ever

Easter was amazing! Bob Nichol "Babu" and Dean Chollar came down for a quick visit to see how the water well was doing and visit the folks at Mtepeni. Dean preached a great sermon and then baptized 7 precious people. I think we were the only church in Kenya with a blind preacher who preached AND baptizing. Heaven got real loud around 1pm our time today when the angels were cheering for all those decisions!! :)

We are so blessed to have so many people who love, pray for and support Real 4 Christ Ministries. Tomorrow we begin a two day Pastors Conference, we are expecting over 100 pastors to be present, some will travel several hours to hear encouraging teaching from Dean. The school and church are doing very well and we hope to have over 100 children ages 3-7 enrolled in the 2nd term starting the first week of May.

Thanks for everyone who takes the time to write, pray for us and for those who sacrificially give every month so that we can live here and provide medicine, education, and most of all the love of Christ. We are here because you are there.....

Love Ya,
Chris & Lisa
